Subject: MATHEMATICS

Carry four marks each:
1. A two – digit number is such that the product of the digits is 35.
When 18 are added to this number, the digits interchange their places.
Determine the number.
2. The product of Tanya’s age (in years) five years ago and his age ten year later is 16.
Determine Tanya’s present age.
3. Prove that the tangents drawn to a circle from an external point are equal in length.
4. The difference of square of two numbers is 180. The square of the smaller number
is 8 times the large number. Find the two numbers.
5. From a station, two trains start at the same time. One train moves in west direction
and other in North direction. First train moves 5 km/hour faster than the second train.
If after two hours, distance between the two trains is 50 km, find the average speed
of each train.

2 hours more than the larger one to fill the tank separately. Find the time in which
each tap can separately fill the tank. 11 12
7. In given figure, PQ is a chord of length 8 cm in a circle of radius 5 cm. The tangents
at P and Q intersect at a point T. Find the length of TP.

8. If the radii of the ends of a bucket 24 cm high are 5 cm and 15 cm, find the surface
area of the bucket provided it is closed from the smaller end.
9.             A card is drawn at random from well shuffled deck of playing cards. Find the probability that card drawn is :

(i)         a card of spade           (ii)        a red king.
